8-week Basic Traumatic Grief Group
- Eight weekly sessions exploring traumatic loss, including but not limited to loss by suicide, homicide, accident, and/or physical illness. This is a closed group for adults of any age with a structured format for each session.
- $30/session or $200 for the 8 sessions
- Saturday mornings 10am -12pm offered quarterly
8-week Advanced Traumatic Loss Grief Group
- Eight weekly sessions for adult participants of any age who have completed the 8-week Basic group or its equivalent. This group is designed for those who want to explore their grief further and want additional support. This is a closed group with a structured format for each session.
- $35 – $50/session or $250 – $400 for the 8 sessions based on income
- Based on need
Monthly Traumatic Drop – In Grief Group
- Once a month drop-in group for those who have completed the 8-week Basic group. This group is available to participants even years after they have completed the Basic group and offers continuing grief support.
- $25 per participant
- Friday evenings 7-9pm
Saturday morning Drop – In Grief Group
- Drop-in grief group offered for adults of any age that have experienced loss. While there is a focus on traumatic loss, the group is available to all grievers. Facilitators rotate between staff and trained interns.
- FREE!
- Saturday mornings 10:30am – 12pm
Individual Traumatic Loss Grief Counseling
- Individual counseling offered on a sliding scale to adults of any age who are experiencing difficult losses. Clinicians include Friendship Line Director Dr. Patrick Arbore, multiple Friendship Line staff, and masters- and doctoral-level interns.
- Sliding scale $50 – $150 per session depending on clinician and income
Support Group for Caregivers of People with Dementia
- This group meets: on the first Saturday of every month, 10:30am – 12 noon, at Institute on Aging, 3575 Geary Blvd., San Francisco, CA 94118
- This group is: open to caregivers, including friends and family, who provide direct care, long distance care, or offer support to people with dementia.
