Caring for Caregivers
Show unpaid family caregivers that they are not forgotten with a gift today.
Every day, millions of unpaid family caregivers dedicate themselves to caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. These caregivers are parents, spouses, siblings, or children—people like you and me.
While these caregivers give so much of themselves, their emotional and physical well-being suffers, and they frequently lack the support they need to take care of themselves. Today, you can help care for a caregiver like Gloria.
Gloria’s sister, Marylou, has dementia. Twice a week, Marylou spends the day at Institute on Aging’s Enrichment Center—her “happy place.” There, trained staff engage her with music, art, outings, and social activities that help her feel seen and valued. For Gloria, these visits mean more than just a break. They give her the strength to keep going. She also finds solace in one-on-one counseling sessions and peer support groups, where she is reminded that she is not alone.
Your donation directly supports these programs, ensuring that caregivers have access to the resources, training, and emotional support they need to care for their loved ones while also caring for themselves. Caregivers play an essential role, but they often do so at the cost of their own well-being. Your support today can provide these unsung heroes with the tools they need to continue their vital work.
